Updating apps with Configurator 2 with managed devices with restrictions

With Configurator 1, when I plugged in a managed device with restrictions to update the apps, Configurator was fine with it: it removed the restrictions, updated the apps, then reapplied the restrictions.

With Configurator 2, running "Update" causes the apps to be downloaded, but then an error "The device has a restriction that prevents the installation of apps." Clicking "Skip app" leads to a further error: "An underlying service (ACUAirTrafficServiceContext) unexpectedly quit. [ConfigurationUtilityKit.error – 0x68 (104)]"

Any suggestions, please?

If it were me, I would temporarily remove the configuration profile prior to updating your apps. Then apply it before you put the cart back into production. Hope this helps.

In other words, this is a regression: this was not necessary in Configurator 1.x.

Is this easy to do for all the iPads in one go?

You are correct. A MAJOR regression. The improvements in workflow and added features are GREAT...when they work.

To be completely honest, I've only had success with deploying about 5 or 6 apps at a time to a cart of 30 iPads. The struggle is real.
