I have no name

installing OS X 10.6 0n new HD in old iMac got this message:

localhost:/ I have no name!# SIOCPROTOATTACH_IN6 EN0 ERROR=17

What to do?

iMac (20-inch Mid 2007), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), new 1TB 7200 rpm HDD just installed
