Configurator 2.0: can it handle more than 20 devices at once?
Configurator 1.x could handle 32 iPads at once. Configurator 2.0 doesn't seem to recognise more than 20 at once - am I doing something wrong?

julian496,
I can confirm that AC2 can recognize more than 20 iPads at once. I'm not sure of the "limit", or if there is one...but I know it's more than 20.
Jon
Thanks, Jon, but that was not my experience. I plugged my MacBook into a cabinet with 28 iPads in it, and only 20 appeared in the configurator window. When I removed some of those 20, unplugged and plugged in the other 8, then they were recognised. But I could not get it to recognise more than 20 at once.

Yikes. That's not good. The only time I've had that happen was when I was dealing with a cart that had a power issue. The iPads that weren't showing up were iPads that, while plugged in, weren't getting enough power. Just a suggestion.
Jon
Thanks Jon,
I doubt that's the issue, though; it worked absolutely fine with Configurator 1.7.2 with 32 iPads until I upgraded to El Capitan and had to then use Configurator 2.0. With the same cabinet etc, it simply would not acknowledge the existence more than 20 iPads.
😟

Hi,
you have to know that there is a command line to unlock more than 32 ipad on AC:
sudo nvram usb-options=’’%01%00%00%00’’
don't forget to type the good administrator's password and restart the computer to take effect.
i work on a school and i have to set 48 ipads at the same time, it work fine for me ( AC1/AC2.... Yosemite/El capitan)
BUT UNFORTUNATELY...
I recently received a new MACBOOK AIR and i can only see 20 Ipads on 48 ...
i tried everything to solve this problem and nothing work whatever i do (call the support and they don't know/ try to reinstall osx/ etc...) .. only 20 ipads are detected by AC2 (el capitan 10.11.3)
finally i think it's an hardware problem for this macbook
maybe it's the same for you julian496 but try to enter that command line first 😉
if someone got solution i take it with pleasure 🙂
finally, that command line work.
so i think that's the good solution.
