Q: can't access my music on my ipad

i can't figure out how to play my music which i downloaded on my new ipad air 2.  when I open music on the home page I can see my music for 2 seconds then the screen goes back to the "MUSIC" screen.  I can play my music but I can't see my albums or songs as i can on my iphone.
