shuts down during sleep mode

after el capitan update, my macbook air shuts down in sleep mode every single time. it's ok during screen saver mode only.

I have to power it back on, and the bars starts up and prompts to log in, (it doesn't make the typical mac music sound when I power it up from this though)... then it says it shut down because of an error.

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1), null

Hello agnespie,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I see from your post that you're getting a message that your computer has shut down because of an error after it goes to sleep. This indicates your Mac is experiencing a kernel panic. In order to help troubleshoot this issue I suggest that you follow through the steps in the link below.

OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem."

Have a good one.
