App Store denies access to an update iPhoto Apple 9.6.1

Update program iPhoto Apple 9.6.1 from March 19 2015 is denied by App Store saying that update is not accessible with my Apple Id since the wanted update has been "bought by another user or the subject has been refunded or cancelled"

Neither is the case . I have El Capitan installed .

How can the problem get fixed most easily ?

Apple has abandoned iPhoto. It has been replaced by a new OS X Core App called Photos (the same as on iOS devices). If you are updated to OS X El Capitan then it should be in your Applications folder.

Late 2012 Mac mini, OS X El Capitan 10.11.1; Apple Watch, 38 mm silver AL, Watch OS 2.0.1; iPad Air 2 & iPhone 6+, iOS 9.1

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1

If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash

Install the App from the App Store.

Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
