How to make a modular grid?

I want to use a modular grid while creating a brochure. Just like in Indesign. Can anyone share any experience with grid in Pages.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), Pages 5.5.3

There is no built-in grid capability in any release of Pages.

Rolling your own grid object that you temporarily place in the background of your document via Move Objects to Section Master, would allow the ability to place and align foreground objects/text. However, this would likely be more labor intensive than practical to create, and frustrating to get accurate grid measurements, than actually using InDesign. Or…

Scribus, is an open source, native OS X Desktop Publishing application. It has a selectable grid view, and one can adjust the grid tolerances in Scribus Preferences. Scribus does not open Pages documents. Its intention is idea to press. It is compatible with Yosemite and El Capitan.
