QNIX QX2710 Evolution II 27" LED Monitor connected to Mid 2011 Mac Mini with mini displayport to displayport

As in the title above, I have a QNIX QX2710 Evolution II 27" LED Monitor connected to Mid 2011 Mac Mini with mini displayport to displayport, and a second monitor hooked up to the HDMI port. Worked fine for a week, (although the QNIX was sometimes laggy waking up from sleep. This morning the QNIX never woke up at all. THe HDMI-connected monitor still worked fine, was able to attempt to wake up the QNIX by going to mirrored displays, changing it's resolution, etc. No luck. After each attempt, the "DP Power Save" message briefly flashed on screen.

I then hooked the QNIX up directly with the HDMI cable, and it works - but not at the full resolution. So is it just a bad cable? Or is there another issue with mini displayport cables and these hi-res monitors, as in I will be constantly replacing cables?

The HDMI port only supports max of 1900x1200.

I doubt a problem with the cable since wire really does not go bad.

Does the DP input on the monitor work with another input?

- Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM

If you startup with only the MDP>DP monitor connected does it show anything?
