I replaced the (2) 1 GB memory with (2) 4 GB in my early 09 Mac mini.
The top slot does not hold it securely and it slides up and down. My computer only recognized 4 GB of memory.
Is there a way to secure it? Electrical tape? Thanks!

I would try something better than electrical tape. My experience with electrical tape it that after some time. faster with the temps inside the Mini the adhesive will loosen and ooze out.

Thank you for the good advice, I will try that. The chip seemed to snap in, but when I checked the computer, it said only 4 GB. When I got back inside I noticed that the top chip would just slide up, so I guess it moves out of position when I put the Mini back together.
