Login to iCloud, click on find my phone, a map will open, with a choice for all devices, click on it and your iWatch will be a choice, click on it and your Watch will start ringing. I did this yesterday.

You can simply just go to Siri on your iPhone and say "find my Apple Watch" and it'll take you to the find my iPhone app and start locating your watch. Then at the bottom you can push the sound button and your watch will start ringing.
Hi - try this:
On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Bluetooth. If your Apple Watch is shown there as being Connected, try these steps:
On your iPhone, open the Watch app and go to My Watch:
- Passcode > Turn Passcode Off.
- General > Wrist Detection > turn off.
- Sounds & Haptics > increase both the alert volume and haptic strength settings to the maximum setting (right hand side).
On your iPhone, silence the ringer (use the flip switch on the side);
On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Sounds, disable Vibrate on Silent.
Place a call to your iPhone (eg from your landline).
Your watch will vibrate and ring (and your iPhone will not, so it will be easier to hear your watch).
Otherwise, there is presently no way to physically locate a misplaced Apple Watch via your iPhone.
For the potential benefit of other users, since this question was originally asked, Apple has added new functionality.
Under watchOS 3.x and iOS 10.x, follow the instructions here:
Tks - I need to act quickly or I am afraid the battery will be dead. Will my iPhone show connected to the Watch if the Watch is asleep or requires a password ?
Yes, it will - as long as your watch is within Bluetooth range and connected to your iPhone at the time.
Normal Bluetooth range is around 33 feet / 10 meters, but the actual range will vary in practice due to wireless interference (eg other Bluetooth devices) and barriers (eg walls).
The problem I found with this was - if you don't know where your watch is - you cannot turn off the passcode from he phone....

Why not? It is simple to do from the Watch app, as long as you know the passcode.
Hi oneshanna
Unfortunately, this solution no longer works under the present version of watchOS (it worked under a previous version).
I had not noticed that change. I just checked and yes, in the Watch app it prompts you to make the change on the watch. 😊
Use Find my Phone on your iPhone.
