What are the hardware requirements for Windows 10?
You can find the hardware specifications for your iMac at http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/index-imac.html
Thank for your answer but on the site you gibe me the talk about windows 7 and i need a answer about windows 10 i did try to install windows 10 but in bootcamp the only talk about windows 10 .
Thank again for your support
On that site it indicates that for all iMac late 2009 Windows 7 is the maximum Windows version possible. Therefore it is not possible to use Windows 10 in bootcamp on your iMac.
Totally false. I've done it. Windows10 will install fine via Bootcamp from your Superdrive. There's also ways to get it to install from a USB Key or external USB DVD drive although the process is a more involved procedure.
Hi zer0ed,
Do you have an iMac late 2009?
Yes. I've done it to my Late 2009 27" iMac (Quad Core).
Perhaps you should contact the authors of the link I provided so that they can update their site.
I'll consider it. In the meantime if you come across anyone else that wants to do it, I'll be happy to help. It is definitely doable. 🙂
FWIW, According to Microsoft, any computer running Windows 7 can be upgraded to Windows 10. So it would stand to reason any Mac that can run Windows 7 can run Windows 10.
As far as EveryMac.com, The last version of Boot Camp they mention is 3.x. Boot Camp Assistant is now at version 6.0.1. They don't have any information beyond Windows 7 at all and obviously it is possible to install Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 in Boot Camp.
So if your Mac can run Windows 7, I don't see any reason it couldn't run Windows 10.
If you have a detailed walkthrough on how to install windows 10 I wold be eternally grateful, I may even name my first born zer0ed...
Mac computers that support Windows 10
The following Mac models support 64-bit versions of Windows 10 when installed using Boot Camp. Use About This Mac to see which Mac you have, then check this list to see if it supports Windows 10.
Hi zer0ed, Which driver set are you using for windows 10 upgrade in your iMac 27" late 2009? BootCamp5.1.5621? Thanks.
Apple doesn't officially support it.
