Macintosh Plus Error ID 28

Hello Everyone!

I don't know if this is the right place to write this so please tell me if it is not!

So I just got a Macintosh Plus and it is in good shape with a external floppy disk drive, keyboard, mouse and even the OS floppy! But when I boot it up after welcoming me it gives me an Error ID = 28. Meaning the Stack has ran into the heap, the problem is I don't have any 800K floppy disks to put into the external disk drive. Is that what is causing this error? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

Which system version is on the floppy disk? Does the computer have the mentioned 1 MB of RAM, or is that just the figure on the label (the maximum RAM for a Macintosh Plus is 4 MB)?

It would probably be a good idea to test another system floppy to begin with (the internal floppy drive is limited to 800K disks as well). However, you will need another pre-1998 Macintosh computer (with a built-in floppy drive) in order to be able to create a bootable disk (from a disk image). It is not possible to use a PC floppy drive or a Mac with a USB drive for the special 800K format.
