How can I convert UDF files so that they can be accepted by iMovie?

My cine films were converted professionally to digital and given to me on DVDs in UDF format.

I am unable to edit them in iMovie because it will not accept the UDF format. How can I overcome this? Is there an App, (Free or purchased) which will convert the format?
