With El Capitan, I've lost the ability to add diacritical marks - macron, and accents. The support community recommends that I change my input source to US International PC, but that option is not available in Preferences/ Keyboard/ Input.
What to do?

What exactly do you mean when you say you lost the ability? What keyboard layout are you using?
I can't explain why you do not see the US International PC, it is in the list when I select English.
Thank you! For some reason 'English' was not an option until I added it, then I could find US International.
