It sounds like you're Siri/Apple TV Remote is not working properly after charging it. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some additional pointers and link for troubleshooting:

If your remote isn't working, try these steps. After each step, see if your remote works:
- Go to Settings > Remotes and Devices > Bluetooth, then select your remote. Make sure that your remote is charged and connected.
- Restart your Apple TV.
- Pair your remote again. Put your Siri Remote within three inches of your Apple TV, and point it at the front of your Apple TV. Then press and hold the Menu and Volume Up buttons for five seconds.
