AirDrop not working at all

I need serious help with AirDrop. I have a MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 and an iPhone 6. I'm running OSX 10.11.1 and iOS 9.1. AirDrop will not recognize my phone at all. My husband's Mac, running the same operating system recognizes my iPhone, but my Mac won't recognize his. Here's what I've tried:

1. Reset both PRAM and SMC

2. Turned off Bluetooth and WiFi on both the Mac and the iPhone

3. Removed file library/preferences/com.apple.BluetoothFileExchange.plist

4. Turned Bluetooth and WiFi back on for both Mac and iPhone

5. Signed out of iCloud on Mac

6. Signed out of iCloud on iPhone

7. Signed into iCloud on iPhone

8. Signed into iCloud on iPhone

I did the above in sequence. NOTHING is working. Is there perhaps a glitch in my installation of OSX 10.11.1? Help!

MacBook Pro (17-inch Mid 2010), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)
