Q: How can I connect a thunderbolt display and a SSD external thunderbolt boot drive to mac mini

I have a late 2012 mac mini.

I boot from an external  LaCie 500GB SSD Thunderbolt drive running Yosemite. The SSD only has a single thunderbolt drive connection.

I currently use a Samsung Syncmaster 23" display running off the HDMI port.

I want to add a larger 27" thunderbolt display- probably an LG LGE 27MB85Z.

So questions please

1. Will the SSD drive boot the mac mini correctly if it is daisy chain connected to the display's 2nd thunderbolt port - i.e. not directly to the mac's single thunderbolt port? The SSD only has a single thunderbolt connection so it has to be at the end of any daisy chain.

2. If the SSD should boot okay from the daisy chain will there be any significant speed loss? I currently get between 320 & 360Mb/S write/ read speed which is awesome.

Thanks for any help as I don't want to buy a thunderbolt display just to find I can't use it and the SSD at the same time!

Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), 2.5Ghz 500gb hd 16gb ram
