Yea it does. I have paid for activation charges about 4 times now.

see when I toggle on FaceTime there is a pop up which says your carrier may charges you for activating FaceTime.

ANd they do. I Guess this is If I want to be reached by my phone number. Because when I activate FaceTime through Apple ID I can't select 'reach by phone number'.

i understood what you are trying and say and I have solution for your problem .

the thing is that , FaceTime need internet connection, and when you used the FaceTime,at that time you were nor connected with the wifi neither mobile data was left on your phone . so your service provider ( the Brand if the sim you are using ) cut the charges of the Internet .

its the same as when you use safari to browse to Internet with having actual net pack in your phone , your servie provider will charge you .

Activating FaceTime and iMessage requires the sending of an international SMS. If you're using a supported carrier, you won't see those messages and you'll never see a charge for that. If your carrier is not a supported carrier, you may see those messages listed on your bill and your carrier may charge you for them.

Yea ok I got that i have to pay once. But the thing is everytime I restart my iPhone or turn on/off airplane mode FaceTime and iMessage are turned off

and then I have to repay activation charges. I have paid 4 times. Once when I restarted the iPhone. And others when I toggle airplane mode. As you can see from the attached screenshots above I am not reactiving both of them until I know this is the last time I would be charged.

Well I am in India so I am using Idea Cellular Network(Indian Carrier).

See that's not the thing. The thing is

1 do you really have to pay actication charges each time you restart your iPhone.

2 Activation charges are also billed if I toggle airplane mode.

Why is this happening. As I said I am already billed 4 times

and I don't see this thing coming to an end.

SO my question is this normal. Do you really have to pay activation charges each time you restart your iphobe.

So you're not using a supported carrier. According to the page I linked to (did you check it at all?), the only supported carrier in India is Vodafone. So, that's your problem. There is no solution other than to switch carriers.

If you were using a supported carrier, you would never have to pay at all.
