can I look at the actual files from a ipad back up

Well it seems to be pretty direct ! My last restore to my ipad was due to buying a new ipad and the restore is missing lot's of things i felt should have been there ,so I wanted to see the files it actually saved to see if it did in fact save what I'm looking for

It requires special software to see, it is a special SQLite file. If this was an iTunes backup, it may have been that what you were expecting in the backup is not saved as part of the backup. If you identify what it is you are looking for, maybe someone to answer your question more directly. This support document identifies what is supposed to be saved in backups. As far as game saves, iTunes reports that it will save this, however, some game makers do not allow the saves to go to the folder that iTunes uses for saves, so that may be the issue. Only the game developer can answer the question as to whether your game process is saved in their setup. I suggest you reach out to their support.


Purchased books should be in your iTunes library, which would allow you to replace them with a sync.


Even if you were to look into the backup, you could not remove the individual content and send it back to the device. A restore can only be done as an all or none, but doing any kind of view of the backup requires 3rd party software.
