No data files should be lost through the upgrade process, but problems can occur and there are always people coming here and asking how to rescue lost files. Always make a backup first.


Files can be "lost" if an upgrade means you can no longer run software required to open the files. In your case this is unlikely to happen since you are not making a major system jump and your computer configuration means you are not running any truly old software.
