how to make multiple line charts

Hi folks,

How to make a multi-line line chart in numbers. I am graphing meters per second for 3 animals. The time is between 0 and 3 minutes, or 180 seconds. Distance is from 0 to 500 meters.

Am I missing something, or is this process somewhat convoluted in the MAC? I much prefer Windows for these kinds of things, but need to use the MAC for this.

Numbers under the Animals is meters traveled at those intervals.

Any hlep here? I'll keep searching for a simple solution.

Something like this takes a minute or so in Numbers (and can then be prettied up in the Format panel):

What may not be obvious if you are used to working in Windows applications is that in your Numbers table you need to have the first row defined as a Header Row and the first Column as a Header column before selecting all the cells and inserting a 2D Line Chart. "Header" rows and columns display as shaded in the example. One way to make sure you are working with the right type of table is to choose the one that looks like this:

Once you got your chart working, you can delete an unwanted series (perhaps the E here) by clicking that line in the chart and hitting the 'delete' key.
