2014 BMW + iPhone 6 c/w ios 9.1

I believe there is an issue with getting text messages from an iPhone 6 running ios 9.1 to show on the BMW in car screen.

I have read it is to do with Apple not having MAP (Message Access Protocol) support over Bluetooth. (I think they did in previous versions of iOS)

Can anyone comment on this?

My car has connected drive and the latest Bluetooth support pack from BMW.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.1, null

If there are any Apple moderators on this forum, can you advise if adding the Message Application Profile over bluetooth is on the roadmap for development within ios. I believe it already works with Android.
