Jan 24, 2016 2:57 PM in response to LeonardCohen2010by vazandrew,The 4th Gen has apps developed by 3rd parties, and those developers need to fix issues when they arise

Jan 26, 2016 8:58 AM in response to Kikrokby sdavis3_63,I've been having the same issue but it's been increasing in frequency. The only way to resolve the problem each time it happens is to delete the Netflix app and then reinstall it, which is very annoying. I've had to do that at least a dozen times in the last few months. I hope Apple & Netflix fix this issue soon.

Feb 26, 2016 3:46 AM in response to Kikrokby Pablo_Z,I´m having same problem and i realize that connecting Apple TV to other wifi (sharing my phone connection) Netflix works fine. I set manually DNS IP Netflix works in my wifi.
I hope this be useful.

Feb 26, 2016 7:03 AM in response to Pablo_Zby vazandrew,Doesn't sound like the same issue, and if connecting elsewhere works then there is something on your network that is the problem. DNS should remain on auto, setting it manually will lead to other issues

Feb 28, 2016 8:34 AM in response to Kikrokby boaster_11,Same issue here. Red ring spins for 5 seconds then screen goes black. All other apps are working fine, Hulu is working fine, and I'm getting a good internet connection. We have two Apple TV 4's and Netflix works fine on one but isn't working on the other without constant reinstalls. Not sure if that helps anyone solve the problem, though.

Feb 28, 2016 11:50 AM in response to boaster_11by vazandrew,Are they both connected to the network wirelessly or is one of them wired? Try taking the problematic one to another location to test.

Apr 10, 2016 7:03 AM in response to mikmak2000by Kev Panton,I May be coming to this a little late, but I've been having this issue infrequently and getting worse.
Last night I got what everyone here has, where the spinning 'red slash' froze and refused to continue.
After a a few times, and reading these posts, I tried switching to my partners profile on Netflix as i have a 4 user account.
Her profile worked smoothly and flawlessly, so I thought about what the difference might be and realised that she uses it less and has almost nothing in her favourites/watch list. So I logged in via netflix's web interface and cleaned up my much larger list, then deleted and re-downloaded the Netflix Apple TV app.
Voila! The app now works fine again.
my theory so far is that excessive lists need more data to be fetched than the programmers allowed for, so if you just keep adding to remind yourself (like I do) then it gets clogged and freezes.
If the freezing re-occurs then I'm wrong, but its working so far and I'll post back here if anything changes.

May 24, 2016 8:59 AM in response to Kev Pantonby MacGuru79,I have the same issue and just got 3 hours of the run around from Netflix. The blamed first the ISP and then the ATV, when everything is fine on my 3 other AppleTV 3rd gens and all other apps on the 4th ben play fine, even streaming play fine. I tested even on multiple networks, via ethernet, and with a hotspot...everything but Netflix plays fine and still they could only parrot the response to "Contact your ISP".
I have never had a more frustrating technical support experience in my life, and I have dealt with TimeWarner and AT&T before..

May 24, 2016 10:43 AM in response to MacGuru79by Diana.McCall,Force quitting the app may help, since it will get a clean start. Beyond that, it's Netflix's app, so it's as good or bad as they're able to make it. All you can do is report the problems to them and hope for an update. Sorry...

Jun 16, 2016 1:06 AM in response to Diana.McCallby Doc Tron,I have a new Apple TV 4th Gen with the smaller RAM. I have had the screen freeze many times at night. Always at 4am, and sometimes at the top of the hour at other times randomly. But it ALWAYS freezes at 4am. I just hit play and usually it goes back to play the movie. Have yet to find a fix for this.

Jun 16, 2016 6:28 AM in response to Doc Tronby Diana.McCall,Hello Doc Tron,
I'd guess the 4 AM freeze is caused by your internet provider. The router log probably reports "Connected to internet" or some such. Are your other freezes always associated with Netflix? Is it just a pause while downloading, or does it actually require Play to make it continue? Is ATV 4 on WiFi or ethernet? Have you tried force quitting the app once in a while, to get a clean start? Note that the iTunes programs are apps just like the others.

Jun 26, 2016 11:44 AM in response to Kikrokby Moche,Reducing my Netflix list from 100 items to 30 fixed it for me. I am guessing each item consumes memory until it is not enough for the AT to function.

Jul 31, 2016 4:19 PM in response to Kikrokby Andres V-CR,HI there,
I've had the same problem with the Netflix app after the last TVOS update
I am running a 4th gen Apple TV A1625 (32Gb) on TVOS 9.2.2 (13Y825).
So basically ever since that last update, Netflix has been crashing after about a few seconds after being opened. Sometimes it crashes immediately and sometimes it takes about a minute to fail. When it crashes it just takes me back to my home screen.
I've tried WiFi and Ethernet connections as advice by Netflix, but no luck either way.
Ive restored the Apple TV a couple of times and deleted the app to reinstall it no luck either.
Netflix claim there is nothing they can do and that i must take the issue up with Apple, so here I am.
Hope you guys can help.
