Nov 15, 2015 11:44 AM in response to alex_h1by mikenowo,I used the instructions on this website (http://www.cnet.com/how-to/uninstall-itunes-completely-and-then-reinstall-a-new- copy/) to fix the issue. I had to uninstall ALL the components that iTunes adds and also make sure the directories for those programs were deleted as well. Then when I installed the latest version of iTunes it worked fine. Seems that older versions of files were causing the problem.
SO basically:
1-Uninstall (in this order):
-iTunes
-Apple Software Update
-Apple Mobile Device Support
-Bonjour
-Apple Application Support
--
After uninstalling the Apple programs, restart the PC and make sure the
following folders have been deleted (if they're still around, delete them):
(for 32bit programs they will be in 'C:\Program Files'; for 64bit 'C:\Program Files (x86)')
-C:\Program Files\Bonjour
-C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
-C:\Program Files\iTunes\
-C:\Program Files\iPod\
