But the keyboard gets stuck on the screen. It disappears only when I lock and then unlock the phone. I don't think this is a deliberate feature. It is a defect.
Try holding the sleep/wake and home button until the apple logo appears. Then see if it Is still freezing.
I have restarted the phone many times and also have restored it from a backup, the issue is still persists.
Does your keyboard get stuck?
My keyboard does not get stuck. Occasionally it will remain on the home screen for a second or two, but it goes away on it's own. Try resetting your settings: settings>general> Reset>reset all settings (you won't lose data, but your settings will be back to factory default)
If that doesn't help restore the phone to factory and set up new. If you use the backup you may continue to have the same issue. -AJ
Isn't this black and white keyboard a defect? I doubt that it is a feature of iOS.

It is not the same. This is a defect in software. I showed it to the support people. They said there was some defect in my backup. I have restored it from a new backup. Let's see whether this happens again or not.
