Apple TV HDMI-CEC problems

I've got the new Apple TV 4th generation, and having a lot of HDMI-CEC issues.

I have an Onkyo TX-NR515 and a Panasonic ST-60, both of which support HDMI-CEC.

I can successfully put AppleTV to sleep, which switches off the Onkyo and TV (usually).

However, almost all the time, after about 15 seconds, the receiver turns back on. Super frustrating.

The first few times it seemed to work just fine, but now I can't seem to get it working again.

Does anyone understand HDMI-CEC well? Can I address issues by turning things on or off with their primary remotes? Should i disconnect everything and try again? They all are HDMI-CEC supported, so I don't know why this doesn't work better.

So, I stripped all devices out, factory reset the AppleTV, and now it seems to be working again. Plugged in all other HDMI devices, and it all continues to work. Weird, we'll see how long it lasts!

I suspect that when the receiver gets physically switched on (front button, thanks to my infant), it upsets this delicate HDMI-CEC balance. 🙂

Thanks for the reply WC
