Error downloading iphone/ipad app through iTunes

Hi all.

I'm running 10.11.1 on a macbook pro retina (late 2012) with iTunes 12.2.1.23. After upgrading to 10.11.1, every time I open iTunes a window pops open and prompts me for my iTunes store password. I haven't changed any settings and this has never happened before.

Additionally, I purchased Lumino City on my iPhone and when I sign into iTunes on my mac and it attempts to download the app, it fails and I get this pop up.

Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

After contacting Apple Support I have found a fix. Hopefully this works for you.

1) make sure the app is downloaded on your phone

2) with your phone plugged into the computer and iTunes opened up go to File-Devices-Transfer purchases from "yourphone"

3) It should transfer the app to iTunes.

4) if it doesn't look like it's downloading or the error is still in the top right corner of iTunes, quit iTunes.

5) Open up iTunes and it SHOULD start the download process.

6) After the app downloads, you can delete it if you so chose (like I did)

In theory you shouldn't get the error again.

Please respond back if this fixes your problem as it did mine!
