Nov 16, 2015 7:56 AM in response to jmcassidyby Limnos,You don't say which exact model and year computer you use. If your computer is older than 5 years they may not even look at it at an Apple Store because they do not support vintage and obsolete hardware. However, the advantage of having an older computer is it is very easy to replace the hard drive yourself. I know you can get a 1TB drive for about $70, smaller ones obviously costing less. You will also need two special size screwdrivers which you can probably get from the same vendor from who you purchase the drive.
I would recommend starting with the OWC or mac-sales.com web site where they will walk you through model search and upgrade options. They also have DIY videos.
