Yes, all of the applications that are part of Office 2016 are now compatible with El Capitan 10.11.1.

When Office 2016 and El Capitan were originally released, there were indeed crashing problems for some users. However, since then, Office 2016 has received several rounds of updates from Microsoft, and El Capitan has received it's .1 update as well. Office 2016 now works great!
