how to play or convert .wma files?

any one know how to play .wma files? i just switched from PC to MAC and cannot play any of my music or language training tracks. any ideas? thanks

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.4, airport extreme bought in july 2015

iTunes for Windows can import unprotected WMA files, iTunes for Mac cannot import WMA files.

Therefore on your PC which you hopefully still have, import the WMA files, let iTunes convert them - usually to AAC, then copy the results to your Mac.

I no longer have a pc, these files are on a thumb drive. Is my only option to pay for a converting software?

I'm told that you can open them in Quicktime player.
