I cannot answer or make any calls from my phone. I cannot get past the swipe on my phone.

Reset your device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down at the same time until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen displays, you should be all set.
