Q: trying to set up airport express v10.11.1 captain thing don't have the right cables

trying to install a airport express on v10.11.1 captain .the computer does not see it.i thing the cables are the problem have a yellow  and a white one going to a highs need modem

Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

    Follow this first...  Airport Express Manual. If you have confused the express, you will need to factory reset it before Airport Utility will recognize it maybe. I assume the white cable is the power.  The yellow should be ethernet running from Internet modem and in the WAN port.   The manual explains.  Follow manual exactly.  It works.  Let us know if you get stuck.

    thanks for your help,i down loaded v56.1 although its not for this system i have a green light and internet,haven't  tried the wifi.the white cable i think hughes made,i tried switching the yellow as you suggested but lost internet. i just saw online a blue and a yellow cable.it took a minute or so for the computer saw the airport.
