Installing Windows 10 in MacBook 2015 is such a pain

it has been 2 days and tried searching for a resolution on the subject, still I can't install Windows 10 using Boot Camp in MacBook 2015.

I did all this and nothing is successful:

1. Downloaded the Windows 10 ISO in Microsoft Windows 10 Download. Downloading is also a pain in the ****, the download cannot be completed, tried downloading three times and they gave me different file sizes, may be that is the reason for this error.

2. I created a USB bootable drive using Microsoft Media Creation Tool and convert it to ISO using Mac Disk Utility. The final size of the converted ISO is 7.8GB. I already by passed the error above but I encountered another error. I am using Sandisk USB 3.0 32GB, how come I don't have enough disk space?

Boot Camp won’t have recognized Windows 10 ISO ERROR

What you NEED to know:

  • Your downloaded ISO image from Microsoft Website maybe incomplete. Windows_10_1511_X64.iso has 3.7GB or more. if you downloaded the ISO file below than this, you will get this error.
  • Downloading ISO from MS website is such a pain, it stops at some point in time when you already downloaded 2.8GB or more but you still get the ISO, there is no way to check if the MD5sum of the ISO you downloaded is correct.

Creating a bootable Windows 10 64bit USB flash drive did not work for me. I converted it to ISO file using OS X Disk Utility giving me 7.89GB file size. During the process, Boot Camp give me this error, “Your bootable drive cannot be created. There is not enough space available on the disk.” Take note that I am using Sandisk 3.0 32GB.

To solved this issue, this is what I did.

STEP 1. Get the ISO file Windows 10 using Windows Media Creation Tool.

  • Download Microsoft Installation Media Creation Tool;
  • Select Windows 10 version 64bit;
  • Select “Create installation media for another PC”;
  • You will see a screen asking you to choose the media to use. Select “ISO file”;
  • Wait for your download to finish and copy to your USB.

STEP 2. Use Boot Camp to install Windows from your ISO file

  • From PC, transfer the ISO file to Mac and paste to Documents or any location;
  • Open Boot Camp and locate the ISO file created using Windows Media Creation Tool.
  • Follow the instructions Step 3-6 here: https://support.apple.com/en-ph/HT201468

STEP 3. You are done.

A 7.8GB Windows 10 indicates a mixed 32-bit and 64-bit installer, which BCA will not recognize. On a 2015 Mac, you either need to use an ISO and build an installer (which will create an OS X Reserved) or manually create a Free Space partition and use the EFI boot from the USB and bypass BCA since your 2015 Mac is a UEFI-compliant Mac and supports it.

Please see https://help.apple.com/bootcamp/assistant/6.0/ for details. Please read the following two sections...

I had same problem, but my downloaded files were 3.7 GB so I only had the 64 bit version of Windows 10. As the solution below states, you MUST download windows to an ISO image file. That is the difference which worked for me. Also I was originally trying to use a 4 GB USB stick, and got messages from Boot Camp Assistant that "There is not enough space available on this disk." I bought 8 GB USB sticks, 1 to hold the 3.7 GB ISO file I downloaded from Microsoft, and another 8 GB USB stick for Boot Camp Assistant to write its Boot Image.

My Mac disk required >50 GB free before Boot Camp Assistant would partition it, even though the Windows partition was created at default size of 23 GB. Remember to empty trash, and then reboot Mac to get the most free space. You also have to format the new Windows partition into NTFS to do the Windows install (when asking where to install Windows, there is an option at the bottom of the screen to "Format Disk Partition") !

Do you get any error in windows creating the w10 installer? You have to do the process of creating the installer inside of windows and then use it for bootcamp.

I didn't get any error in creating Bootable USB in PC.

Bootcamp should see that you are using a usb installer and proceed.

Boot Camp didn't recognized or detected my bootable usb, that is why i converted it to ISO using OS X disk utility with 7.89GB file size, and use boot camp, and gave me error No. 2.

If you use the media creation tool to create the usb installer you don't need to do anything else. Bootcamp should see that you are using a usb installer and proceed. Don't do the extra step of creating an iso in mac just try with the usb installer. Also use the media creation tool to download the files. Important to pick install in another pc and don't but don't download updates now - it takes for ever - update after install.

Yes but that error is in os x. Do you get any error in windows creating the w10 installer? You have to do the process of creating the installer inside of windows and then use it for bootcamp.
