Q: Why is my iPod touch 4 suddenly never recognized by iTunes ?

One day my iPhone and my iPod Touch 4 were both recognized by iTunes.  Now, only the iPhone is recognized.  What should I do?

    What OSX version on the phone?

    What model iPod and iOS version? You say "iPod touch (4th generation), iOS 9.1" but the 4G can only go to iOS 6.1.6.

    Does the iPod charge?

    Is the iPod and iPhone using the same cable?

    What computer OS and version?

    What version of iTunes is installed?
