Q: ATV 4, slideshow problems

Actually the ATV4 still doesn't hold onto the Video properly when paused on the Mini iPAD - after a few minutes when the screen saver kicks in the ATV4 it loses the AirPlay sync and you have to restart the AirPlay sequence.  ATV3 works fine.

I am having the same problem, basically ATV 4 is rubbish at playing photo slideshows.  There wasn't a problem with ATV2 so Apple sort it out!

After updating to 9.2 just now I´m sad to report that there has been no improvement in the slide show function.
Still shuffles pictures even if it should´t

Ken Burns still end prematurely after approx 40 secs if you specify a longer slide duration than 3 secs.

What are they doing at Apple?
Who cares about Siri and folders? Fix the basics first!!

Also, while iCloud Photo Library is included in this update, we cannot use albums for screensavers or slideshows. I was hoping to use my favorites album as a screensaver, but alas...

So glad i found this thread, thought I was doing something wrong. Is there anyway to get a status update on the fix for this issue from apple?  Like so many others on here have stated previously, using my my hdtv to display my craft is paramount to my business!

I haven't seen any ETA on a fix and given it has been going on since tvOS 9.0.0...who knows.

Still the same situation here in Germany ...

New ATV4 with latest firmware ... random slide show with erratic repetitions of some pictures or abrupt stopp after 20 pictures.

Posted feedback online, will try Hotline.

My older ATV on a differnet TV runs without any problems!

Too bad! The questions is returnung the ATV and buying another older modell ???

Now it's April and I am having the same problems with slideshows on ATV4.

Really annoying because the deciding reason I bought ATV instead of the competition was because I (foolishly) believed that I would have a seamless solution to displaying my photo albums where I would not have Vendor X pointing fingers saying "It's Apple's problem not our wonderful box"

I've submitted polite problem report(s) to Apple as helpfully suggested here but to no avail.  One would think that a premium priced product from a once high product quality company would have a fundamental basic application problem fixed after 6 months or so.

same issue here, repeats photos even after selecting no repeat!  very annoying.

main thing i use apple tv for is slideshows...and you can't add music unless you use I radio?

i am returning this worthless Apple product, Steve Jobs would be livid that this flawed product was released!

Regarding the music, it is a hack and not as good as the older Apple TVs, but you can start your playlist in music, then switch over and start the slideshow.

The Apple TV with tvOS right now is at best a beta product and needs bug fixes ASAP.

I Am having very similar issues. My wife just spent weeks putting together a slideshow for our son's high school graduation party. Now it seems we have no way of displaying it. We've had every generation ATV and we certainly didn't expect this.

I'm having the same problems with the ATV 4 as everyone else here and I've used the link https://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html to report them.

In the meantime I've used Photos on the iMac to create slideshows from albums I have there... and have then chosen to export them to iTunes using the option presented when choosing 'Export'. They are saved in the Home Movies section of iTunes and play well when chosen from the ATV 4. In fact, I like how you can reorder and delete some photos from the slideshow, without actually reordering or deleting them from the original album. You can also choose any Apple theme music or your own. See Photos for OS X: Create and work with slideshows.

It looks like Apple's directive of form over function is finally beginning to catch up to them. Overlooking fundamental functionality of these slideshows/screen savers is plain sad. At the very least don't include them until they are a finished product. Or just spend your time removing jacks and revolutionising the world with colour options
