When I'm on my home or lock screen I can swipe up and change the current song or use my calculator, but when I'm in any app, let's say google chrome, I can swipe up and nothing happens so I'll hit the home button and swipe up again and then the control Center comes up. What's wrong here? What can I do? I have a gold Iphone 6. This has been like this since i can remember. I got the phone in August of 2015

There is an iOS setting that can be used to prevent Control Centre from opening within applications. Go into your iPhones settings for Control Centre and turn on "Access Within Apps" if its currently disabled.
This happens. Slide up from the bottom edge slowly and after sliding up hold your finger to the screen for a second or two.
I have also faced the issue while on the home screen. The swipe up does not work and I have to use the control centre option from assistive touch button.
Perhaps it is the app itself? I know that if I am using the Kindle Reader app it is difficult to get to the Control Center or the Notification center (from the top) on my iPhone 6. And on my iPad Mini 2 it is almost impossible to swipe from the right hand side and get to the screen for multi-tasking. All I get at first is a small arrow - which I then have to "grab" and drag to get to one of the screens.
