Q: Started exercise app/indoor cycling and it didn't track my distance.

Apple watch does not track indoor cycling.

    Of course it can't tell distances, because the watch doesn't know what gear ratio you're using. Indoors, it's just going to look at heart rate.

    So if that's the case, why is that when you review your information under Apple Health, it shows Workout, Duration, Calories, and Distance.   Also in some instances it recorded distance..

     

    Do you work for apple or are you assuming this information??????

     

    And you also mentioned that the watch does not know what gear ratio that someone is in but how will it know what gear your in if your out riding unless it's connected to the bike itself?

    You may want to start another thread as you have, for some reason, marked this one as solved. People may be less likely to look at it.

    It knows your distance while you are outside riding because it ties into the iPhone GPS. If you don't have your iPhone with you when you ride outside, I don't think it will track distance (although I have not tried this myself).
