I am receiving an error message that I cannot burn a DVD because my iMac doesn't have a superdrive?

I am trying to create a movie in IDVD to burn to a DVD. I receive a message that I cannot burn a dvd because my IMAC does not have a superdrive? Please advise.

iMovie '08, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

What model of iMac do you have?

Does it in fact have a CD/DVD SuperDrive?

If it does not you need to get one. There may external ones including Apple's own SuperDrive you can use.
