Why does my iPad mini keep freezing up/locking up?

MY iPad mini keeps freezing, locking up and crashing game apps.

I Have deleted most apps, photos, even bookmarks, then rebooted my iPad several times, but to no avail.

i Have noticed, ever since updating the iPad to iOS 9.0 and above, this has been happening.

i Have gone as far as paying monthly for more space on my device.

my iPad says I am only using a quarter of my available space!

I Really cannot afford, nor will I, purchase another iPad.

my husband and daughter haven't updated past iOS 7 and THEY DO NOT HAVE this issue of locking/freezing up!

i Really hope Apple fixes this issue soon, or its back to my Kindle Fire!

Howdy SharylFriendp,

It sou ids like you are having some performance issues on your iPad after updating to iOS 9. That is certainly unexpected but it sounds like a software issue based on what you are describing. I would start by quitting all the running apps on the iPad:

Force an app to close in iOS

1. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
2. Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:

If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works. This will verify that the iOS software and your iPad hardware are functioning correctly.

If it works the way it should, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.
