Q: My iphone has been hacked?

Hi everyone, I have an iPhone 5S running iOS 8.1.2 and a few weeks ago all of my pictures disappeared. When I connected my phone to iTunes it says that the photos are still there but it just doesnt appear on photos app on my iphone. So I did a little digging and found a way to fix it, i had to delete photos.sqlite inside the DCIM folder of my iphone through my mac and the photo library rebuilt itself and all of my photos came back. But then I noticed that the pictures are not chronologically displayed, but I can live with that.

Then some nasty things started happening, my phone has since started freezing for around 10 seconds when accessing photo library through another app (such as selecting a picture from photo library on instagram) and it has since become laggy. So I decided to download an handy app called SystemTools from the appstore that lets me see what processes are running and stuff and I discovered a suspicious process called EscrowSecurityAI. It has a level 17 priority and I don't know whether it is a legit apple process or from a third party app. I'm really paranoid right now in case someone is hacking my phone?

I also did a little research on google and it might be an escrow key attack? I don't know what that means but I don't like how it sounds.

Does any of you guys know what I should do with my phone? should I erase everything on my iphone or should I get a new iphone? Thanks guys, really appreciate your response

If you did not jailbreak the iOS software, your iPhone can't be hacked.

If the software got modified, your phone is vulnerable.

    ...

iOS is designed to be reliable and secure from the moment you turn on your device. Built-in security features protect against malware and viruses and help to secure access to personal information and corporate data. Unauthorized modifications to iOS ("jailbreaking") bypass security features and can cause numerous issues to the hacked iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, including:

Security vulnerabilities: Jailbreaking your device eliminates security layers designed to protect your personal information and your iOS device. With this security removed from your iOS device, hackers may steal your personal information, damage your device, attack your network, or introduce malware, spyware or viruses.

Instability: Frequent and unexpected crashes of the device, crashes and freezes of built-in apps and third-party apps, and loss of data.

Shortened battery life: The hacked software has caused an accelerated battery drain that shortens the operation of an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch on a single battery charge.
