Dec 28, 2015 5:52 PM in response to holgerfromsaint petersburgby Brian613,This issue really needs to be fixed. On my 3rd pair today from Apple Store because I had to return them twice so far due to them getting bricked.
The update would download, start to install, then disconnect and reconnect as USB causing the update to be interupted. After it would reinstall the drivers for the headphones the updater would just be stuck saying that the update was interrupted and to plug the headphones in to continue even though they already were. The headphones were stuck with the lights flashing back and forth. Resetting them did not help. The second pair started to get somewhere in part two of the install by unplugging and plugging them back in plus skipping the driver search when they reconnected as a USB device. It the took forever though and stopped again so I just gave up wasting my time and returned them a second time.
This is truly sad that Apple doesnt make a proper updater for these head phones with the price you're paying. I'm literally scarred to even attempt to update them now.

Dec 31, 2015 11:34 AM in response to Brian613by Armaaan,They can't fix this issue that's why they replace the beats with a new one. but if the headphone turns on and will stay on update mode verheadert answer should help.

Dec 31, 2015 12:15 PM in response to Armaaanby Brian613,AActually they could fix it by developing a standalone update app and not using the web browser. The problems are cause by the headphones resetting during the update causing it to br disconnect from USB. The web browser based update does not account for this and causes it to not detect the headphones.

Jan 1, 2016 4:47 PM in response to Armaaanby tcdun,★HelpfulI had this same problem with my beats studio wireless updating them in the chrome browser on my PC running windows 7. When I started the update, the loading bar would get to step 2, and then interrupted when my beats went into update mode (the 5 LED lights moving back and forth). After unplugging them, my beats became stuck in this mode and could not be reset or turned off unless I let the battery die. And if I let the battery die, they would go right back into update mode when I plugged them back into the charger.
I was able fix this issue by uninstalling the beats updater application on my computer and reinstalling it. After uninstalling, I plugged my beats back into the computer (still stuck in update mode). Then I closed and reopened chrome and went back to the beats updater site to reinstall. Once the beats updater installation was complete, I saw the beats loading circle spinning and the update loading bar jumped right back to step 2 and continued updating the beats firmware until it was complete. I had to rename my beats again after the update completed but my beats are now updated and fully functional again.
Hopefully this can help people fix their beats studios without having to send them to Apple for replacement.

Jan 2, 2016 9:12 PM in response to Armaaanby Monkey Cheese,Wow!!!! I can't believe it my Beats Studio wireless were just bricked as well, none of the recommended processes mentioned here worked. I tried to contact Apple support about the issue but since my headphones are out of warranty I'm now responsible for their screw up with the updater and only offered for me to send in the headphones so they could assess how much it would cost to repair them! Their has to be some legal issues with this I have have started to contact the majority of the tech sites in order to warn others of this issue and hopefully to prevent other people from having to go through this. I recommend that everyone who is experiencing this same problem do the same in order to make this issue more visible to the public.

Jan 3, 2016 4:55 AM in response to Monkey Cheeseby Armaaan,Yes none of these work for hard bricked devices such mine and yours that can't even turn on after update interrupt!!
I talked with some techs and it seems the only way to get rid of this problem is a bootloader program, i even doubt if they have this kind of program in their lab tho, cuz they don't return the same beats, they replace it with another beats.
the worst part is there is no apple store where i live so i just put it away.
Anyway if you found a solution to this question plz tell it here. tnx in advance.

Jan 5, 2016 7:08 PM in response to verheadertby veralisa_sim,Thanks a million! You saved me another trip back to the support centre. I just got my Beats Studio Wireless replaced because the previous one could not power on at all. Then I tried to update the firmware and encountered the same problem as you mentioned. I was about to send it back to the support centre when I did a search and came across your advice. Followed your instructions and the update is completed and I am able to use the headphone again. Really appreciate your help in sharing the solution with others. Good work man!

Jan 21, 2016 10:44 PM in response to Armaaanby Nate Tallman,The updater on OSX (10.11.2) crapped out and seemingly bricked my headphones. No amount of resetting, killing the updater process, reinstalling the updater worked. Chat support couldn't do anything (although Merlyn was friendly). In the end, I was going to have to get them serviced or replaced or whatever they do.
As a last ditch, I tried the update on a Windows 7 computer, and Viola! It worked.

Jan 23, 2016 2:41 PM in response to verheadertby RKCK98,You are the Miracle Worker!!! Thank you so much for figuring out this issue and posting it. Got the headphones Tuesday and just had chance to register and update Today. Hit the circle of death as you called it and couldn't figure out what was wrong. The continual message from the updater was no help! Got on Apple Support Chat and after going through multiple resets etc, they told me it was a defective pair and to return it. So out to Best Buy and got new pair. Back home, started register then updater, and bang...interrupted message and the lights death circle again. Very frustrated and thinking of throwing them away when I decided to search for issues and found this thread. My husband held the power button as you instructed and I drove through the website and updater. He nearly has a numb forefinger but it worked. Headphones back operational and pairs with my iPad. I agree with all the posts that Apple needs to fix this software problem. If it weren't for you I would be back at store and just turning them in for a refund. Many, many thanks!
