i got el capitan on my old 2011 MacBook and it won't show the screen but it plays the boot up chime over and over and won't stop I let the computer die but I turn ur back on and it still does it and any ipod I connect to it pull up the dead battery sign even thou it was fully charged I recently wiped all the data to factory new and it still does it
For the MacBook problem:

- Try another cable. The cable for 5G or later iPod (lightning connector) seems to be more prone to failure than the older cable.
- If a 5G ot later iPod

- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

TThis kind of helped but it just plays the noise with the black screen in any mode I attempt to open the computer in I think it my be the computer not El Capitan
TThe iPod works but now the computer is still broken
