Q: Safari is frozen on a page.  I have a message tell me my Macbook Air may be infected to click scanmymac.com.  I believe this is malware.  How do I get rid of it?

Safari is frozen on a page with a message telling me my Macbook Air may be infected. Click scanmymac.com.  When I close Safari and reopen it or reboot it keeps coming back.I believe this is malware.  How do I get rid of it?

    That’s a scam popup, not malware. Choose Force Quit from the Apple menu, close Safari, and then launch it with the Shift key held down. If the message reappears, disconnect the computer from the Internet and erase that site from the browser history.
