Iphone 5s IOS 9.1 VPN HELP!

Good day sir, i'm newbie wirh this VPN. i'm working on a ship and we are using internet via satellite but some sites are block so i want to use VPN. i downloaded OPEN VPN CONNECT ON AppStore and register an account on its website. They give me 500 mb for my account And download there profile. But everytime i connect my VPN it says connection timeout. Can anybody helpe pls. I'm using iphone 5s IOS 9.1.
