That nano sims, is only to use with 3g and LTE?? is a waste of technology.
There is a way to install the whatsapp into the iPad Air?

I'm inclined to agree that Whatsapp is some sort of joke. As stedman1 notes, the developers of Whatsapp don't make a version that works on iPads (or any tablets as I recall). Until they do, you'll need to use one of the messaging apps that does work on an iPad.
Because the developers of Whatsapp have not made a version for iPad. And because the number for the sim in an iPad is not a real number than can receive sms messages which whatsapp requires to activate.
in both instances it's the whatsapp developers limiting the usage on iPad. Apple has nothing to do with it.

The SIM you have in the iPad is for data only. The number that you have is not a working number for phone/message purposes, it is only an account number for the cellular carrier to use for billing purposes.
Well, this isn't the first issue involving Whatsapp. They seem to not always be on top of things, and I've also found in reading the forum here that the popularity of Whatsapp seems to be very regional. Some areas seem to use it rather exclusively, while others don't use it at all. Of course, the fact that both the sender and recipient need to have it can make a difference in its popularity as well. It is a personal preference issue, but it is also based on the technology that Whatsapp uses. They have recently released a web based version, using your browser. You might want to try that with the iPad.
Open the App Store and download WhatsApp.
The developer of WhatsApp has not created an iPad version.
