Q: Some links do not work after publishing

Ok, I'm thoroughly baffled. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I saw the other threads on links that do not work after publishing. All of them mention an object blocking the links. So I look at my site and wonder why some of my links work online and some don't no matter what.

Here is a link to my 2nd Grade page:

http://www.eusd4kids.org/schools/farr/Farr%20Elementary%20School/Second%20Grade. html

and all the links work, except for the ones on top.

Here is a link to my 1st Grade page:

http://www.eusd4kids.org/schools/farr/Farr%20Elementary%20School/First%20Grade.h tml

an identical page where ALL the links work. I've looked at these two pages over and over. There is nothing covering the upper links on the 2nd Grade page (BTW, it's not the only page with problems).

Here are the facts:

I created the site using iWeb 1.1.1 however, before it was published to a folder I upgraded to 1.1.2. Initially only 1 page had this problem with bad links. I deleted that page and recreated it. Now I have the problem in a boat-load of other pages. One last point, all the bad links are to pages within the site.

it looks like a real problem. when you look at all of this it does seem that there is something OVER IT - but if you say nothing is over it that then should be nothing!

the only way i can think of is to duplicate the working page, first grade, (Apple-D) and change the photos and links to what they should be as , second grade!

    then try again

    max

by the way, your fifth grade links don't work either

I think it's a transparent image formed for the blue header background that is covering up your links.

One thing you can try is this... Since the only thing different about your headers is the text "First Grade Staff", "Second Grade Staff", etc.... you can try copying and pasting all the elements in your header section: the blue shape, the emblem, the textboxes and the overlying shapes for the links. Just drag your mouse over all the elements and select them all together. Then do a copy command, then click to your new page and click paste. This should copy all of the elements into the exact same place with all the same properties.

    Thanks Max...it all works now

It seems as if the template I chose (even though it is supposed to be a blank page) does have a hidden text box which iWeb uses for displaying its site map (which I had deactivated). I found this box by selecting everything on the page and looking at it really carefully.

Another issue was the location of the links. I took your advice and deleted the bad headers and replaced them with the one good header I had (First Grade). It took a bit more tweaking after that, however, it's all good now.

    Thank you again

I have the same problem, my links on only one page of my site don't work. However they only don't work on my computer. Computers outside my home have no problem with link usage. I have reset, emptied caches, repowered etc etc and this still happens.
Does anyone know what this could mean? Thank you.
