no audio when exporting from imovie9 after el captain update

Is there anyone that can help me with this. I just downloaded El Captain and installed it. I am not getting any audio to export from Imovie9 which I have always used and never had the problem. I tried exporting to youtube and my desktop with the same result. I have a project started in the imovie9. If I upgraded that would I loss the project? I would appreciate any idea's on this. Thanks
