ipod wont sync with updated itunes 11

SInce updating my itunes to the latest 11.0 version , the ipod wont be read now.

I get the message: The iPod “Turquoise iPod” cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes. Go to www.itunes.com/uk to download the latest version of iTunes.
