What exact wording of the message and what were you doing when you received it?

There is no message. I connect the ipod classic and it does not show up on the itunes screen. When I looked at the settings I see that the ipod is no longer listed as an authorized device. When I read the "authorize your computer" section it says i have to start on the device, which you cannot do on an ipod classic. When I look on my computer it is not seeing the ipod when it is connected. The cable is fine and the ipod is working and charged up.
First:

Not being authorized is not a concern.
Just where are you looking fro the authorization?
