Could someone help me figure out what this Kernel Panic report says? I feel like my MacBook is trying to tell me something but I just don't understand it. I have a 2008 13-Inch MacBook aluminum unibody.

At what exact stage does this happen? On boot? On running an application?

You might want to get rid of any anti-virus software.

Usually I look for a crashed thread and clues in the name associated with it, but I am not seeing that here.

I'd been having other issues well before installing Avast on here, but I guess the anti-virus had a small hand in creating other issues. Because of that I never though to check it. But I just popped one of the RAM sticks out and so far the computer is running just fine. A few hang ups here and there from having the RAM cut from 8 GB to 4 GB, but I'm trying to put this thing through it's paces and it seems to be doing just fine. If it was the RAM that has been the issues all this time I'm going to laugh.

RAM that does not meet Apple's stringent specifications will cause random KPs and instability that you will not be able to correlate to any particular activity. Unfortunately there is no reliable method of using a Mac to test its specification compliance, but you could use Apple Hardware Test. If it identifies memory failure, then it should be replaced with memory obtained from a vendor known to supply Mac-compatible RAM. Other than Apple I know of only two: Crucial and OWC / MacSales, and if you choose Crucial the RAM must be specifically intended for Macs.

Garbage like Avast will only complicate troubleshooting while conveying absolutely no benefit, so omitting it is the only reasonable choice.

I haven't had any kernel panics since uninstalling Avast, but I had a whole host of other problems that I just hadn't been able to pinpoint. Since removing a RAM stick absolutely NONE of those issues have come up, and this is the best my Mac has even functioned since I've owned it. Maybe I just got lucky and pulled the bad stick on the first try, or that particular chip just isn't compatible with my computer. In any case, at some point I'll get a fresh 8GB of RAM from OWC to drop in this baby, along with a fresh battery and an SSD.
